Our Founder
Joe Hainline (1947–2011) was a loving husband, father, and friend to many. He dedicated his career to improving public health through his work as a sanitarian and environmental health specialist, serving for 24 years in Missouri.
In the last year of his life, Joe worked to create the Hainline Heritage Charitable Foundation to carry forward his vision of supporting environmental health professionals, providing scholarships, and extending kindness to those in need.
Joe's vision of helping others extended beyond Missouri. He and his wife Darleen supported two children — Maryline and Joseph, 8-year-old twins from Uganda whose mother was suffering from AIDS — providing their education and care through a boarding school in Kampala.
Joe passed away on December 23, 2011. The foundation continues his legacy of encouragement, kindness, and mercy.
