Rochelle De Lucia

It was a pleasure to attend the Missouri Milk, Food, and Environmental Health Association awards banquet this year, to present our annual scholarship to a student in the field of environmental health. It was good to see so many dedicated individuals, many who were friends of my dad, who are working hard behind the scenes every day to make our lives safer.

This year the scholarship committee at Missouri Southern State University chose Rochelle DeLucia, a senior pursuing a degree in environmental health, to receive the HHCF Scholarship. Dr. Fletcher, who leads the environmental health program at MSSU, introduced Rochelle, who presented her essay on why she wants to pursue a career in environmental health. Larry Hunt and I had the honor of presenting her with the scholarship check, a hug, and a homemade apple pie.

Congratulations, Rochelle! As our very first scholarship recipient, you hold a special place in the foundation’s history. We are excited to see where your passion for environmental health takes you and look forward to watching you make a real difference in the communities you serve.
