Lucas Anderson
2018 HHCF Scholarship
$1,000
Lucas Anderson was selected as the 2018 HHCF Scholarship recipient by the Environmental Health program at Missouri Southern State University. The scholarship was presented at the MMFEHA 39th Annual Education Conference Awards Banquet on April 5, 2018, at the Oasis Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield, Missouri. As always, the presentation included homemade pies — continuing the HHCF tradition. Dr. Mike Fletcher described Lucas in his recommendation:
Lucas is a great student, always pursuing knowledge and asking the tough questions to get to the bottom line and the truth of things. His positive attitude and hard work make him very well-liked by the faculty and other students. He is from the Joplin area and is a second-generation environmental health student, taking his choice of career path from his mother. He has a deep respect for the environment and in particular wants to improve the quality of our drinking water to promote our health and vitality. He feels he wants to have a lasting positive effect and should leave the world a better place than when he found it. I believe he would make anyone a great employee in the field of environmental health.
Congratulations, Lucas! Carrying on a family tradition in environmental health is something special, and your dedication to improving our drinking water is exactly the kind of work that makes a lasting difference. We look forward to seeing you leave the world a better place, just as you set out to do.
